Application Requirements

  • Proof of income: Current advise slip ,Current lease agreement where income is rental based, Audited financial statements, cash flow projections and 6 months bank statement for companies
  • Confirmation of employment / contract of employment
  • Deed of sale in case of purchase / copy of tittle deed
  • Valid identity documents
  • Proof of current utility bill and declaration form
  • For trust applications: copy of trust document and resolution to borrow
  • For companies : form J and form C, Memorandum / Articles of Association, Certificate of Incorporation and Resolution to borrow

Insurance Cover

We encourage that all loans financed by SBS are covered under the Mortgage Protection Policy and House-Owner’s Insurance. It shall be a condition precedent to the loan being disbursed to the Borrower, that the Borrower shall take insurance cover and pay premiums in respect of such insurance policy. In the event that the Borrowers insurer cancels such a policy ,the Society shall reserve the right to force insure the loan to protect its interests. It is further recorded that the Borrower has right to choose the insurer intermediary with whom he shall conclude a contract of insurance to secure the dept .

  • Approved Plan by City Council /Ministry of Housing and Local municipal council's written consent
  • Supervising Architect / Projects Manager's Professional Fees
  • Swaziland Environmental Authority approval

  • This product is offered as an employer-facilitated scheme
  • Flexible repayment terms of up to 10 years.

Personal lines insurance

The Swaziland Building Society is a registered corporate insurance agent for Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporatrion (SRIC) in term of the Insurance Act No.7 of 2005. The Society has an active insurance division that offers a variety of insurance products. Customer needs are our priority, the division diligently coordinates with the SRIC in handling customer applications and enquiries.

Rural & Urban housing insurance

It covers loss or damage to building against fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, storms, wind, water, hail or snow, impact and falling objects, bursting of water tanks or pipes, theft or attempted theft.

House holders insurance

It covers loss or damage to the contents of a building against fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, storms, wind, water, hail or snow, impact and falling objects, bursting of water tanks or pipes, theft or attempted theft.

Personal all risk insurance

Provides international cover within the territorial limits as stated in the policy. It covers items normally worn by a person such as handbags, briefcases, sporting equipment, watches, jewellery, photographic equipment, cell phones and other personal effect generally carried on the person.

Personal liability insurance

This policy is designed to indemnify the insured or a member of his or her family living with the insured, for any legal liability they may incur. e.g. when a person is bitten by a dog

Commercial lines Insurance

Personal Lines Insurance policies

These are policies specially for individuals and not for businesse, They comprise of the motor, house, house contents, personal all risks, personal accident and personal liability insurance.

Private Motor, Motorcycle & Trailers Insurance

Comprehensive motor insurance covers loss or damage to the insured vehicle, motor cycle and trailer due to accident and also theft, fire and third party liability.
